The Leader and Life passages

The events and trials of life, the episodes we endure and enjoy- the joys, pains, achievements, losses and gains, both professional and personal – shape the leader within us.

  1. Leadership does not begin with the assignment of a title or the desire to be a leader of others.
  2. Rather it starts with a cause -a desire to make a difference in the world.
  3.  That, in my view does not exclude for profit organizations that may not see themselves as cause related.
  4.  A cause is the simple reason or motive-a deep desire that expresses the human need to achieve, succeed, connect, learn, grow, love, relate and strive.
  5. Leaders are remembered for what they change, for what they create, for their spirit and for what they stood for and as ACT’V we want to embrace not one of the above but ALL.
  6. Hence, great leaders come from all parts of the society and represent human desire and potential- there are some people who think good leadership qualities should be reaped from the elite group but my philosophy argues against that, should we listen one another, abide by our principles and adhere to our primary cause, definitely we will be among the well renowned leaders.
  7.  Not all leaders are ethical- there are some that symbolize the very worst of human aspirations and such should not come in the midst of ACT’V group.
  8. As leaders of the ACT’V group we teach, monitor and follow each leader’s work so that we accompany one another in both personal and professional growth.
  9. Any leader who violates our protocols both in the human resource structure, and policy and procedure guidance does not belong to us.
  10. We would rather have a non-performing leader than one who violates our protocols.
  11. We are a group which comprise of categorical leaders who lead every day.
  12. However, if you can figure out what you are about, how you want to make a difference, how you can work with others to create, change or grow something and then turn that into action, then you are leading and so saying, we are gathered here as categorical leaders ready to lead.
  13.  Leadership does not begin with the desire to be a leader, but a cause that inspires and connects to aspirations and potential in others.
  14. All our efforts as we gather here today as ACTV group top brass are directed towards smoothening our leadership paths so that we achieve set goals to meet human needs, to shape the world and shape the leader.
  15. Lastly but not least, ACTV should be recognized in the hierarchy order of Heads and their Admins as top leaders in the business unit here known as a school (the Finance Manager also stands as a business unit in charge of all the Group funds), the heads directly report and supervised by the Coordinator, the Coordinator reports to the Director, the Director is part and report to the Board which report and accountable to the Owners of the institution. Other stakeholders such as MOPSE, ZIMRA etc should be respected as they are mandatory obliged to perform specific statutory functions.
