I greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, with a holy kiss mentioned in 2 Corinthians 13:12 not the Judas betrayal kiss mentioned in Luke 22:48.
Birthday celebrations have never been an important thing to me until I got married and sired children who always pushed me to buy for them cakes to commemorate their birthdays. Those who know me they know I grew up in the countryside and the major business I grew up knowing was heading of the cattle and other related duties.
While I was born here in Bulawayo I spent my zero to teenage age in rural home. I grew up under immense conditions, for four years I travelled 15km double everyday going to school and coming back home, and this was never an excuse for not bringing the head of cattle home that was my primary duty. As boys of that age in that context we embraced our duties and we diligently performed them. This background have molded me to a tough and aggressive man who would always want to achieve in spite of the odds and obstacles flanking me.
The world today is in serious crisis because the children have too much rights. They do not only have rights but voices, voices that the world have time to listen to. As a leader who deal with both children and young leaders I always see the effects of these unnecessary rights. As law abiding citizens at ACTV we find ourselves playing the same tune but we refuse to be pushed to extremes. Let’s give our children God’s infinite wisdom so that they finish what we have started, if we don’t we will be left with no choice but to import leaders.
ACTV is an institution that house four schools all located in the heart of high density suburbs of the City of Kings and Queens established with purpose of bringing quality education to the masses. The first school Tshebetshebe was established in 2015 and from then we never stopped bringing more babies. It was then a school every year (in Shona it’s called (GORE MWANA), people usually criticize it but it works, it worked for us.
Our group is blessed with very skillful personnel right from the ancillary staff, teachers and administrators. We have diverse qualities of administrators and our Board of Directors have made it a point that they don’t temper with the uniqueness of each Administrator. On our first national examinations all our schools got results in the range of +/-95%. Pass rate is not an issue now but we are working tirelessly to get the best symbols. While our station masters lead the stations I lead the bigger team that is entire ACTV family, I’m saying this with pride because the team is performing well both in Academic and Infra-structural development. We are not competing with anyone but we are the best of our own.
We also have a diverse base of Parent Assembly and we thank them for their unwavering support. To those parents who are with us today know that our teams are prepared to give you the best. I strongly urge you to give us nothing but your support so that we build our future leaders together. Let me tell you, if you don’t know there is just too much potential in your children all we need to do is to cultivate these germinating seeds to bear fruits.

My greatest plea today is with the parents, at home there lets teach our children to embrace the necessary virtues especially LOVE, RESPECT, KINDNESS, honesty, loyalty e.t.c. I was brought up in a church which believes in respect and humbleness. I so much envy the words of my Bishop, His Grace the Right Rev. Dr. B.E when he said
“there are no issues of Democracy in the Church or Christianity.”
Rev. Dr. B. E
I was taught from child hood to love and respect people across the spectrum young or old, poor or rich, illiterate or literate. As I grew both in Christianity and professionally, I learnt that people should never be viewed in either tribal or racial lines. During my childhood I also learnt that charity begins at home. This taught me to love and respect my relatives before l export my love. It is always my prayer that this gift should never be put to waste or abused in any way.
On the above basis I have committed myself to do good things to my relatives, friends and other people not because they love me but because that is what my mother taught me from childhood, infact that is what God wants. Love is something embedded on me, ask my wife, ask my children, ask my relatives present or absent, ask my workmates at ACTV, ask my church mates and my neighbors. Even those who have chosen not to like me can still witness for me.
Frank Sinatra wrote,
“SING like no one’s listening, LOVE like you have never been hurt, DANCE like nobody is watching and LIVE like its heaven on earth.”
Frank Sinatra
I know myself, I can neither sing nor dance but I can love, I LOVE YOU ALL. This is what we teach at ACTV, I urge all present here to embrace this approach of “love”, you will see the benefits as time goes by, in fact it is Biblical to love and God’s command read John 15:12-13. I agree with Angus Buchan when he say, “I realized that a GOOD IDEA is not always a GOOD IDEA and that a need does not justify a call. When we do what the HOLY SPIRIT has instructed us to do, EVERYTHING FALLS IN PLACE.
Some of you have travelled all the way with me, falling and picking up ourselves to date. I cannot say these words without thanking my children and family at large who have supported me unwaveringly through thick and thin, I pray that God gives you courage and strengths throughout this complicated journey called LIFE, always know that some people will love you while some will hate and hurt you for NO reason, always take it easy and stay calm. ACTV team, you have been there also. You broadly deserve to be thanked and to be told of your true value. My words cannot be enough to thank and express this truth but the one who rewards in privacy will cover the gap.
There are names of people who cannot go unmentioned should we decide to talk about the history of ACTV, first of all its Fambecher team. While the list is endless, names like Mrs. A. Moyo, T. Mpande, Mr. T. Ndwalaza, Miss N. Malinga, Mrs L. Mpofu, Mr. A. Sibanda, Mr. S. Nyathi, Miss N. Ndlovu, The late Mrs. P. Khumalo (MHSRIP), Mr M. Tshuma etc
Should we not mention the Tshebetshebe parents who trusted us with their children before our vision came clear, justice wouldn’t have been pursued. We have people who supported us when it was not fashionable to do so. The likes of the parents of Ryan Mphile Ndlovu Grade 6 Green, Sphamandla Ndlovu Grade 4 Green, Samukele Sibanda Grade 4 Green, Buhle Moyo Grade 6 Green, Sibusiso Ncube Grade 5 Green, Bhekinkosi Moyo Grade 4 Green, Michelle Chimhere Grade 6 Red, Melba Mudimba Grade 4 Green, Kennias Siziba Grade 7 Red and Nkosiyothando Ngwenya Grade 5.
Holman say,
“One of the trademark of the life of a Christian is the ability to be truly thankful, thankful to God, thankful to others, thankful for everything that comes your way”.
Holman.
Going out of your way to thank someone will go a long way towards growing your character. This is supported in the bible, Luke 17:11-18.
It is on the above basis that I thank my mother for bringing me to earth, she gave me true and proper guidance. Some women are evil they give birth to beautiful boys and girls k and dump them BUT my mother gave birth to an ugly boy ME, but she had courage to keep me and endured the nightmares of an ugly boy who will eventually grow to a categorical leader. I could have died on the 23rd of September 1973 or earlier should she have considered abortion.
I also have to thank all of ACTV crew for flanking me truthfully in the accomplishment of both my professional and my business life. May the good Lord abundantly bless you and your families. Our motto as ACTV is
“TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT, WE CAN DO IT TOGETHER”
ACTV GROUP OF SCHOOLS MOTTO
which means all our results are teamwork based. However our system has selected a few names who will be announced winners not meaning they achieved in isolation. We are an organization that value teachers so much and of course our support staff. We are all here because teachers played their role diligently. Let me tell you, teaching is one of the crucial disciplines but it does not pay well.the teachers you see serving are simply full filing their call.
I am opening up on this so that all stakeholders give teachers the respect and value they deserve. All of us here can read and write because of the teachers, we have beautiful wives and husbands out of love letters we wrote through knowledge from teachers, even the highest office present here is because of the teachers. ACTV teachers today represent all teachers can someone stand up and lead in a song thanking teachers…
I like it when people say MOYO YOU HAVE DONE IT, but the truth is l don’t achieve in isolation. We have people who diligently carryout their duties of course on our instructions, sometimes they even craft the entire plan, execution and finalization. I therefore urge leaders to learn to properly align the credits to the rightful owners, this does not only motivate our people but the credits to the rightful owners, this does not only motivate our people but it gives true reflection. Whatever results you see at ACTV we jointly own the credits, obviously as their leader they cannot leave me out.
I also give thanks to my Pastors, brothers and sisters in brethren who prayed, counseled and consoled me in times of need, I owe my spiritual growth to you. It is through you I have come to understand full meaning of life. Such occasions helps give me opportunity to introduce some of your children (ACTV staff) whom we are working well as a team.
Together we have accomplished many goals surpassing a number of challenges, some challenges that were purposely designed by our people and friends meant to divert our focus of serving the people of God. Your presence and support defeated the wishes of the
evil.
Your etiquette has remained my major source of motivation. We have worked well with each other to grow other people, hence re-designing the world. Some people we are growing together will grow to be better than us and we take no offense on that instead we are proud and looking forward to it.
Shaka the founder of the great Zulu empire, was killed by his two half-brothers Dingane and Mhlangane out of jealous and hatred hence opening a way for one of the two to the throne, Dingane took over. There is a version given by King Mpande, another half-brother of Shaka articulating Shaka`s last words to his killers where he said,
“Are you killing me kings of earth? You shall meet your death by killing one another.”
Shaka Zulu
If you follow how these Kings were removed in the Zulu empire it confirms Shaka`s last words to have come true, it was not just words but a prophecy. The killers of Shaka are equated to Cain who killed his brother Abel out of jealous. Our philosophy is on converting the Dinganes and Cains to live peaceful and in harmony with others, if we cannot convert you we eject you. We have too many Shakaz and Abels crying out there, this is the case in the entire universe and this should be corrected
Shaka`s prophecy lives to date, such behavior is not condoned and is viewed as a taboo in the context of ACTV group and in my philosophical teachings. I therefore call upon all leaders present here to work towards correcting both attitudes and behavior, parents have a major role of giving teachers emotional and resource support. Let us also lead by example, showing love and remorseful plays a critical role in character building.
ACTV is not a home of men and women of unscrupulous behavior. In the context of our group various disciplinary hearings have been conducted by our HR Department with convictions. The cases varied from minor to very serious ones. Some cases left us with no option but to refer them to the law enforcement agents for further administration.
Truth be told here at ACTV we do not care how colorful and decorated your CV is, if you prove to be unruly and of ill-behavior your stay is short lived. It disheartens that on this day of age we still have teachers who do not appreciate the value of a child especially the girl child.
Our Administrations headed by the Station masters continue to be vigilant on such perpetrators whose residence and operational fields should be nowhere except in the prison or somewhere out there.
It would be unfair to conclude without mentioning and thanking the alertness of some off our members who continue to guard and ensure that the safety of our children prevails. Had it not been for them, some essential issues that touch so much on the safety of our children could have been left un-resolved.
As ACTV we continue to rebuke stagnant positions as we view continuous improvement as the best approach towards the attainment of the visionary goal. We also embrace AFA approach where acknowledge our failures and use them as a starting point to propel our operations.
We continue to mourn our members, friends and relatives who passed-on during peak of Covid -19, MTSRIP. We also pray for those who are not well.
I conclude by thanking the ACTV Board of Directors and the HQ, the Schools Administrators and the entire ACTV staff for organizing this function which has been lined with my birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MYSELF. All thanks to my mother MaDube (popularly known as Naka Middle) for giving birth to a “handsome boy, ME.” I have seen some mothers get rid of their children soon after birth or later, but this MaDube endured. She endured and stood with me even when it was not fashionable to do so. Thanks to my brothers and sisters who are present, my wife and children, business colleagues, Pastors and friends.
With all honor thank you Jikampondo, Lalandawonye, Malobola …. Chief Sibasa. I am honored to have you as a leader who traditionally owns me.
I also convey my thanks and warm gratitude to you, YOUR WORSHIP THE MAYOR OF CITY OF KINGS AND QUEENS, HONOURABLE CLR S. MUGUNI and your team. We are humbled to have you grace our ceremony.
I thank you all and wish the God of Mount Zion to safely guide, guard and bless you all.
THANK YOU!!!!
