“The Making of a Leader”
- Scripture: 1 Timothy 3:1 (NIV) – “Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task.”
- Quote: “Leadership is not a position or a title, it is an action and an example.” – Cory Booker
- Leadership is a process, not an accident. Like Apostle Paul, we can say, “I labor, striving with all the energy that Christ so powerfully works in me” (Colossians 1:29).
- Leaders are shaped by both human influence and God’s guidance.
- Scholar Peter Drucker said, “The only thing we know about the future is that it will be different.”
- This means leaders must be adaptable, like Joshua, who led with courage, saying, “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
- Each of us plays a role in making leadership possible – through mentorship, support, or personal growth.
- As Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
- Let’s ask ourselves:
- Are we investing in our leadership growth?
- Are we supporting others to lead?
- Are we trusting God’s guidance in our journey?
Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, help us to be intentional about leadership, trusting You and shaping us for noble tasks. Amen.
