“The Making of a Leader”

“The Making of a Leader”

  1. Scripture: 1 Timothy 3:1 (NIV) – “Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task.”
  2. Quote: “Leadership is not a position or a title, it is an action and an example.” – Cory Booker
  3. Leadership is a process, not an accident. Like Apostle Paul, we can say, “I labor, striving with all the energy that Christ so powerfully works in me” (Colossians 1:29).
  4. Leaders are shaped by both human influence and God’s guidance.
  5. Scholar Peter Drucker said, “The only thing we know about the future is that it will be different.”
  6. This means leaders must be adaptable, like Joshua, who led with courage, saying, “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).
  7. Each of us plays a role in making leadership possible – through mentorship, support, or personal growth.
  8. As Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
  9. Let’s ask ourselves:
  • Are we investing in our leadership growth?
  • Are we supporting others to lead?
  • Are we trusting God’s guidance in our journey?

Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, help us to be intentional about leadership, trusting You and shaping us for noble tasks. Amen.
